# Semantic SEO

Semantic SEO organizes content around the things a business is about and how they relate, rather than around individual keywords. The aim is a site whose meaning is clear to people and to the systems that interpret it.

## From keywords to entities

Search engines have moved from matching strings of text to recognizing entities: organizations, people, products, places and concepts. They also look at how those entities connect. A page that explains a service, the problem it solves and who it is for gives a system far more to work with than a page that repeats a phrase.

One practical way to plan this is with simple statements of subject, relationship and object, such as "the firm offers estate planning" or "the software integrates with Salesforce." These shape what a page needs to say clearly. They are a planning tool, not a formula to repeat.

### What semantic SEO work includes

- Mapping the core entities of a business and the attributes buyers care about.
- Structuring pages so each one has a distinct purpose and intent.
- Covering a topic thoroughly enough to answer related questions.
- Using consistent names for services, products and people across the site.
- Internal links that reflect how topics relate.
- Structured data where it accurately describes what is on the page.

## How a topic connects

Each relationship is a simple statement: the topic page answers buyer questions, connects to related entities, and leads to the service page. Mapping them shows what a page needs to cover and link to.

## What it is not

Semantic SEO is not stuffing a page with related terms or chasing an entity density target. Coverage matters because it makes content more useful and easier to interpret, not because a tool assigns it a score.

It also does not guarantee placement in AI answers. Clear, well-structured content gives AI systems better material to work with, but each platform decides for itself what to retrieve and cite.
